Bern/Lisbon - Swisscom has drawn up plans to open a new office in Lisbon in 2027. The aim here is to strengthen long-term competitiveness through technology and business services in the fields of IT, software development and finance. In the first half of the year, Swisscom increased net income by just under 7 percent.

Porto - Hydrogen can be fed into the Portuguese gas infrastructure with little to no investment. This has been confirmed following a case study carried out by the Institute of Science and Innovation in Mechanical and Industrial Engineering (INEGI). As such, it can play its part in efforts to decarbonize the national energy system.

Porto/Yongin-si – The Porto-based company i-charging and SOLUM have begun commercial delivery of their jointly developed MAX charging platform. The solution delivers a charging power of up to 1.6 megawatts and is designed for public charging hubs, fleet depots and logistics operations.

Lisbon - Portugal is strengthening its national artificial intelligence infrastructure with its first open language model. AMALIA was developed by a consortium of Portuguese universities and research centers, and is set to be progressively integrated into public services.
