Bern/Lisbon - Portugal has solidified its standing in the international cybersecurity landscape at the Swiss Cyber Security Days in Bern. The country highlighted its technological, engineering and industrial expertise, particularly in the aerospace and defense sectors.

London/Lisbon/Porto - A total of 51 foreign projects involving direct investment in Europe have been honored with Investment Impact Awards 2026 from fDi Intelligence. They show great potential for having a significant impact locally. Six of the projects are in Portugal, two of which are led by Swiss companies.

Bussnang/Coimbra - Stadler Rail has established Stadler Digital Labs (STADL) together with the software firm Critical Software. The purpose of the newly founded organization is to promote digitalization in global rail transport. The focus will be on software development, security-relevant systems, cyber-security and applied digital innovations.

Porto - The University of Porto has launched the BRITE-EU project. With European backing to the tune of around 3 million euros across four years, the initiative is designed to promote talent and strengthen cross-sector collaboration with the aim of improving research and innovation in Widening countries.

Belém/Oeiras/Matosinhos - The Oeiras Space Hub and the Center for Engineering and Development of Portugal (CEiiA) are joining forces with the Guamá Foundation in Brazil in order to establish the Amazon Space Hub. The partners will aim to launch technological initiatives to protect the Amazon biome.
